Luís Costa was born on 16 October 1993, in Porto. In 2014, he obtained a bachelor’s degree in Sound and Image, from the Art’s School of the Catholic University, in Porto. He worked in several projects and roles in the audiovisual area. His first film Fontelonga (2013) is an awarded documentary short film directed in the first year of University, being selected for several cinema festivals, including the nomination for best documentary short film by the Portuguese Film Academy. Pena Fria (2014), his first fiction short film, has been already selected for international film festivals. Besides cinema, he works on photography and music. Deeply connected to the interior of Portugal, specifically to Trás-os-Montes, he has been attempting to portray that region in some of his works. He is currently working on a new short film.
