Anand Gandhi (*1985) is a filmmaker, playwright and artist, deeply interested in philosophy, evolutionary psychology and magic. His work in theatre, television and short cinema has been appreciated by audiences around the world, and has won him several awards in the past decade. Ship of Theseus is his first feature. After opening the City-to-City section at the Toronto International Film Festival, it won honours at the international film festivals of Tokyo, Mumbai, Dubai and London. Recently, the Critics' Circle UK celebrating its centenary, voted it on a list of 15 "life-changing" films.

He is now engaged in writing, directing and producing films under his banner Recyclewala Films, started with actor Sohum Shah.

In 2013 Anand Gandhi comes back to Hannover as was one of the jury members at the 12th up-and-coming  International Film Festival Hannover.
